During this period, the routing of the previous XWiN routers (Nexus 7700) will be switched to the new XWiN routers (Catalyst 9600). These routers are essential for RWTH's network connection. This changeover also requires the migration of the DFN connection, which is switched redundantly to Frankfurt and Hannover, and the RWTH firewall to the new systems.
There will be complete or partial outages of the external connection during the maintenance window. All RWTH services (e.g. VPN, email, RWTHonline, RWTHmoodle) will not be available during this period. The accessibility of services within the RWTH network will be temporarily unavailable due to limited DNS functionality.

Problematik mit der Anbindung zur Physik identifiziert, Lösung erfolgt morgen früh.

Wegen einer Wartung an der Telefonverbindung zwischen Uniklinik und RWTH Aachen ist im genannten Zeitraum mit Verbindungsverlusten von bestehenden Gesprächen zu rechnen. Darüber hinaus ist es möglich, dass zeitweilig keine Gespräche aufgebaut werden können.
Wir versuchen die Störungen auf einem Mindestmaß zu halten und bitten im Störungsfall auf das Mobilfunknetz zurück zu greifen oder abzuwarten.

Da die Arbeiten beim ersten Termin noch nicht abgeschlossen werden konnten, erfolgt die Trennung kommende Woche

Switche der Serie c9300 werden am genannten Datum einem Update der Software unterzogen.
Während der Updateprozedur wird es zu einer Unterbrechung der Netzkonnektivität von ca. 15 Minuten kommen.
Betroffen hiervon sind an den Switch angeschlossene APs(Wlan), Telefone und PC/Server.
Wenn das Datum fix ist, wird das Ticket aktualisiert.

When entries are changed in the contact directory (RWTHcontacts), the display names of Alcatel phones are currently not updated.
In the course of the network renewal, the problem will be solved at RWTH in future due to the switch to Cisco. With regard to the telephone system at Aachen University Hospital (UKA), the problem is currently at UKA's IT department for clarification.

The UKA IT department has been informed and is continuing to work on a way to solve the problem. The RWTH IT Center cannot take action on the UKA telephones.

The data has been updated on the UKA side.

Since July 2, 2024, the RWTH Single Sign-On (SSO) and the login of all SSO-connected services is protected with multifactor-authentication (MFA). In addition to an individual password, users must now enter a second factor when logging in. The second factor must be generated in Selfservice [1] via the Token Manager. Im Rahmen der Wartung kann es zu kurzzeitigen Störungen der Verfügbarkeit der Alcatel-Telefonanlage kommen. Die Anlage wird während der Wartung für ca. 30 Minuten vollständig heruntergefahren und steht während dieser Zeit nicht zur Verfügung.
