Additional information: Due to a configuration error, during the period mentioned, emails were inadvertently forwarded to an internal RWTH mailbox (until it became full). We can confirm that the emails were deleted unread. For admins: Affected were emails that, during the period mentioned, were received either -from outside RWTH Aachen (based on an analysis of the MX records), or -within RWTH Aachen via smarthost.rwth-aachen.de or smarthost-tls.rwth-aachen.de, and were originally intended to be sent to a subset of RWTH Aachen email domains and were therefore forwarded erroneously.

The senders of the affected emails have been identified. We will inform them today via email that their messages were not successfully delivered.
