WirelessLAN (eduroam, RWTH-guests)

Unfortunately, there are frequent problems with the use of eduroam within the University Hospital Aachen (UKA).
If you are unable to establish a connection to eduroam within the UKA, but are able to do so in the RWTH Aachen University buildings, then these problems are most likely caused by the UKA's WLAN infrastructure. The UKA operates the WLAN infrastructure independently. The RWTH IT Center has no insight or influence here.
UKA IT is informed about these problems and is working on a solution.

Zwei der zentralen WLAN Controller, die rund 50% der WLAN Infrastruktur versorgen, haben aus unbekannter Ursache einen Neustart durchgeführt. Nachgelagert ist daher das WLAN an rund 2400 Accesspoints ausgefallen. In der Regel betrifft dies immer gesamte Gebäude.

Nach dem letzten Ausfall ist der Hersteller bereits informiert.
Als Maßnahme aus diesem Ausfall wird im Laufe des Tages ein Downgrade in die Infrastruktur eingespielt. Das führt dazu, dass Accesspoints für rund 20 Minuten während des Downgrades keinen Service erbringen werden. In diesem Fall übernehmen benachbarte Accesspoints.
