Austausch Datacenter Core-Router

Im angegebenen Zeitfenster werden die beiden redundanten Datacenter Core-Router gegen leistungsfähigere Router ersetzt. Da der Austausch wechselseitig erfolgen kann, ist dieser unterbrechungsfrei geplant.

Deactivation of Automatic Email Forwarding in the IdM Selfservice

On April 21, 2026, automatic email forwarding via the IdM Selfservice will be permanently disabled. The feature will no longer be available after that date.
If you wish to continue forwarding emails to another address, please set up a corresponding inbox rule in your RWTH mailbox via the RWTH MailApp.

If mailboxes with automatic forwarding still exist on April 21, 2026, the IT Center will convert them into an inbox rule that forwards to the previously stored destination email address. The automatic forwarding in Selfservice will be automatically removed. For mailboxes where the IT Center converts an existing automatic forwarding rule into an inbox rule, automatic trash cleanup will be preconfigured via a corresponding checkbox in Self-Service (available starting April 21, 2026).

Updates

On March 17, 2026, we sent out an informational email regarding this matter. Since this email was not sent to the owners of the affected mailboxes but rather to the redirected email addresses, it is possible that the mailbox owners did not receive this information. We apologize for this.

In the coming days, we will send another email to the owners of the affected functional mailboxes. Due to feedback and inquiries regarding the deactivation of automatic email forwarding that we have received in the meantime, we will also be offering an informational online event. We will also provide the date and event link in the informational email.

Please note that disabling the forwarding function in Self-Service is unavoidable due to the increasing implementation of the DMARC policy by email providers. Without this change, other providers would no longer reliably accept our emails in the medium term.
